I'm not surprised that some lawyers seem to change allegiances. Supporting a position without personal investment is precisely the training. I couldn't live that way. I know too many lawyers who do.
When people talk about red vs. blue areas, I think we best remember that a city, in this case Huntington Beach, is not that much of an outlier. A lot of SoCal residents are MAGAts. Where they aren't the majority of voters, we tend to call the area blue.
I live in a city with a Dem mayor. He is extremely conservative. A nevertrumper, but conservative. So the city is considered one of those progressive hellholes that burned to the ground, yada yada.

Very true about red vs. blue. Illinois is considered a blue state, but if you look at the electoral map on election night, it's a big swatch of red except for a few little blue points of light around the state, mostly near colleges and universities, and the bigger blue area around Chicagoland. The rest of the counties are red.
Illinois red counties are mostly not "slightly" red, either. They are deep red, and their people have the same psychosis that other red parts of the country experience.
I hope Pritzker tells them to go fuck themselves. 🙄
