A choke hold is always a big deal. We all know how dangerous assaults by LEOs can be. When I hear about LEOs out of control, I pay attention. If they're local, I find out who they are just in case. I've been assaulted by the PD, as have one of my kids.

I think I picked up that you don't have a lot of faith in young people. I do.

Mine are millennials. They are busy with the usual, but are very aware of what is going on. They always have been. One received activist training as a young teenager. They used to be a speaker at the annual MLK March, and organized multi-day training workshops.

I think the uninvolved get more notice than they deserve.

Chicago. That raid is a huge red flag. The reports of agents rappelling from the helicopter have been verified. The destruction of the units have been verified. How utterly frightening. I am so sorry for those people.

Thanks. I wouldn't say I have little faith in young people. I think they're a little trapped by circumstances. They're definitely out in force in Chicago. So it's mostly, I think, a different form of resistance. They all chat online, and when it's time to take action locally, hopefully they do.

That said, my faith in young men was definitely damaged in the Trump vote. He won all age groups among males, including young men.

I read too much into your words. Sorry, it's been a day.

The kids my age lived watching their comrades being killed or irrevocably changed by the war. It was immediate to our existence.

Kids now don't have an immediate threat to their lives. So it does take a catalyst to engage them.

Like Chicago.

The more they witness, the more they will become involved.

Not your fault. I waver a bit on the issue. Bottom line is that I have great empathy for them. They are facing terrible headwinds, especially regarding climate change and housing costs.

Sadly, the app for IceBlock was removed today from the Apple store. Just more capitulation to the orange stain.
