You wanted to know what women think? Exactly what you think. Double standard, ridiculous bs. I read that NYT piece and I was discussed. I love the Bulwark but I am sick of their hemming and hawing about Platner. Collins is pathetic and has done irreparable damage to our country.
Thank you. I really need the perspective of women to help me sort it all out, because if I've learned anything during the last 15 years or so, it's that my male viewpoint can be easily skewed by years of conditioning and other nonsense.
You are welcome. I have been an independent for decades because I am fed up with these parties. I want to see fresh faces that care about our country and democracy. Would I prefer someone without a troubled past? Sure. For example I also live what Talarico is doing. The world we live in is messy and complicated, our politicians have always been a reflection of that. No of us are without sin, poor judgement, etc at some point in our lives. I hope Graham wins and kicks off a shit storm of reform in the Senate. HooRah.
Ossoff is pretty good, too. AOC is amazing in my opinion. There are a few others. There's some hope. I was independent too at one time. Now I talk like a rabid Democrat, but that's because there's only one political party right now in this country. Thanks again for the thoughts!
As indicated by your informative article, his transgressions are peanuts compared to the monsters running the joint now. Some Dems seem to have a problem with "perfect being the enemy of the good" and being "purity ponies" (and of course the media bias comes into play). And as you and many others point out, the current Republican party is not at all sqeamish about supporting the real "worst of the worst." Graham Planter is far from that ilk. I heard that his acceptance speech was very good. I hope Maine voters oust Collins!

Jesus my autocorrect is out of control this morning. Sorry for all the typos.

Yeah, I read that, too. When I have a little more time I'll try to watch part of it. Maybe, lol. Thanks for the comment. Much appreciated. 🙂
