The little followed and subscribed KeepTrack Substack published on January 28 a list of contract awards and purchases by ICE and CBP since January 20, 2025.

Excellent listening of federal government contracts issued by CBP or ICE since January 20, 2025. For those not familiar with federal acquisitions and contracts, the “award type”column showing definitive contract, delivery order, or purchase order indicates:
a contract for one single task (definitive contract),
an individual task order of a multiple award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract (delivery order),
a product or service obtained from a vendor on an approved vendors list (purchase order), usually maintained by GSA but could also be maintained by the specific federal department or agency.
If a contract is a small business set aside, the vendor meets the SBA’s criteria for a small business for that particular business line service or product. On occasion, if the government agency or department really wants to use a particular small business and the contract amount exceeds the small business dollar limit (thus disqualifying the vendor from future small business contracts), the SBA has been known to mysteriously just increase the maximum dollar amount for that particular business line.
Other set asides are for veteran owned businesses, woman owned businesses, and Alaskan Native Corporations (ANC), thus in the case of the latter why so many contracts let to companies based in Alaska, far from the southern border or the ports of entry for immigrants.

I have read they made a $60 million investment in Palantir software (named ELITE), that allows ICE to merge administrative datasets—like Medicaid, SNAP, and DMV records—with commercially bought cellphone and social media data. This makes it possible to track the entire life of an individual (citizen or not) in one interface.
And maybe also the RISAA (Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act) that act expanded FISA Section 702 powers.
I am grateful we are restricting all of those uses more and more in Europe, not just by country yet as European law.

Yes, Conservatives worked hard to discredit Carney (and the Liberal Party) and were making headway up until the point when Trump referred to us as his 51st state and addressed our Prime Minister as "Governor".
That slap in the face was the end for Poilievre (the Opposition leader - a Conservative allied with trump's ethos). He even lost his own seat in his riding, which called into question the legitimacy of his Leadership of the Party.
After that, Carney sailed to a modest victory rather than what could have been a complete rout.
Canadians felt safer in his hands, and rightfully so. The man is an adult with a stunning list of accomplishments and education. He knows exactly what he's doing at all times and has a deep well of patience and sagacity.
I see on Meidas today that Trumpnutters are trying to stir up separatist trouble in Alberta. I think Canada now has a reason to use the Crown's intelligence services to knock out Trump.

Albertan magas don't seem to realize that the best parts of Alberta belong to the Indigenous tribes who definitely want absolutely nothing to do with trump and his ICE goons.
Without the Indigenous peoples signing away their ownership of the lands that hold the natural resources that trump hungers for, there will be no secession, no matter what.
Also, nobody will want to lose their Canadian health care or freedoms.
