I’ve been asked by several people how to buy MagicLand if they don’t want to purchase from Amazon, so this is my meta post for that. Generally, you can find it wherever books are sold, to borrow an old catchphrase.

I’ve added some links at the end of this post for your convenience.

What is MagicLand?

MagicLand is my debut novel and a finalist for a 2023 Feathered Quill Award.

Here’s a video I made when it was released:

MagicLand is set 2,000 years in the future long after the über-rich have used expensive augmented technology to claim absolute dominance over those who can’t afford it.

The rest of the world becomes restless, and so the augmented resolve the problem with a series of eradications. That’s the background of the story, more thoroughly covered by stories in The MagicLand Chronicles, which can be found here on Ruminato.

By the time the events of MagicLand unfold, humans have split into two distinct species: Magicians and what are commonly known to us as cyborgs. They’ve been at war for 2,000 years as part of their evolution. MagicLand is about a cyborg who crashlands in MagicLand and falls in love with the young woman who finds him.

It’s had good reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, and others, but my favorite review came from a reader who wrote:

“Wonderful, clean, thoughtful and thought-provoking. I will read this to my grandchildren ages 12, 8 and 4 and I know they will love it!!! I found your book in the city library and now I just have to get a copy for myself. Your book is of the same caliber as the writings of CS Lewis. I look forward to more from you.”

I’ve started the second installment of the series and hope to be posting a chapter here soon.

MagicLand is a profanity-free zone, so it’s perfect if you have young folks who need a good read without having to think about that stuff. If you like your tales a little rougher around the edges, Psalm of Vampires might be more up your alley!

Buy MagicLand at your favorite bookseller:

Amazon

Barnes & Noble

Books A Million

Book No Further

Bookshop

Booktopia

Gibson’s

Google Play

IndieBound

Powell’s

The Nile

Target

Walmart

Waterstones

If any of these links don’t work, please let me know. You should also be able to find it through the bookstore’s search function.

A special thank you to my new subscribers

And, hey! A special thanks to all my new subscribers. It means a lot to me that you are enjoying my work here, and I encourage you to explore the site, especially if you enjoy fiction. Fiction won’t get stale like political rants, which hopefully will become less frequent after November. Almost all my posts are free to everyone, except some of my novels in progress (none posted yet other than Restive Souls excerpts, which are free to all subscribers).

So a paid subscription is really just a pat on the back and a way to show your support, and very, very much appreciated!

Thank you no matter what the status of your subscription is. It means a lot. If you really want to share the love, share and restack like crazy!
