Yes, he's crazy. He'll never become sane. it's over for him. Non compos mentis. Around the bend. Nuts. Cuckoo for cocoa puffs. Gone with the wind.
Meanwhile, "They sacrificed thousands of their children in waves of poorly equipped front-line troops to halt the Iraqi invasion." etc in re: sacrificing as many kids as it takes.
How about this - let the kids live their lives and send the old warmongers off to fight the battles. The world wouldn't mourn the sacrificing of 300,000 instigators of wars. Obviously, they have no regard for youth so send those with blood lust off to die. I won't mind that, at all.
As a matter of fact, send off everyone who thinks war is a good idea and leave the rest of us alone to get on with life. It's already enough of a challenge.
I'm a bit unclear how exactly trump plans to "take" Kharg island. It is north of the Strait, so some ship is going to have to get TO the Strait to offload boots to the ground. (I suppose they could walk up the coast and then swim over?) But is it feasible to get an American war ship through the Strait? I suppose the "boots" could parachute in and "take" the island but apparently Iran has other ports it can use and would just divert what it produces to there. So the boots would just sit there admiring the ground. Perhaps Hegseth could parachute down and they could all pray.
Good questions. One clarification here is that other ports probably don't have quite the massive storage capacity as Kharg, but you can spin those up prettty quickly, as anyone who lives near Houston can attest. I can't think of any other legit targets for 2500 ground troops (and maybe 500 Special Ops).
If Hegseth has managed to fire enough competent generals and replace them with people who will go along with his bizarre fantasies, then the next president is going to inherit yet another big problem. They'll need to re-professionalize the armed forces.
It’s a suicide mission that Marines from Camp Pendleton, who recently departed for deployment early from San Diego on the USS Boxer with support vessels and Marines deployed from Okinawa, about 5,000 total boots on the ground plus Marine Corps shipboard and air support (about 8,000 total) are being sent to, either trying to run the Strait or aerial via multiple helicopter and Osprey sorties.
Another guy, Lucian Truscott, suggested through West Point history professor Terrence Goggin, that they may be heading for Bandar Abbas and its airport, but that would mean controlling the surrounding mountains and its many small towns full of hostile villagers and IRGC militia. Like in America, rural areas in Iran are considerably more conservative than in the big cities. That's such a nightmare scenario that I can't imagine Hegseth's Heroes trying to pull it off. I'm no West Point professor. I appreciate the esteemed background necessary to become one, but that seems a lot less likely to me than Khargh Island, especially given the likely presence of the USS Boxer and its support craft.
We're about to find out, I guess. The $200 billion KegsBreath wants may all end up going toward legal fees from all the lawsuits military families file against the Pentagon when this is over.
When I was a teenager, I used to love playing these old Avalon Hill board war games. Games like Panzer Blitz and Blitzkrieg. We'd play for hours. When video games came onto the scene, I quickly learned I can't really play them, because if I did, I'd spend days in my room without leaving. So, generally, I never got into video games. The only one that managed to finally suck me in was Civilization, but I broke free!
I got sucked into the original Oregon Trail game when my kids were little. I liked it because it had some basis in history and landmarks. It was interesting to see how three little kids became attached to the different features of the game. One would shoot all the bison, but then discover that left nothing to hunt or eat. Another decided to do away with her younger siblings by having them die of diphtheria or measles. Then there were the lessons in physics and buoyancy - load a barge too heavy and all your wagons sink on the river crossing.
I wouldn’t know about the game, but I had the first, original book as assigned reading for a class in college. Can’t do most video games. Hand /eye coordination isn’t fast enough.
Hitchhiker’s Guide was a text based game. No coordination needed, but you had to be able to guess clues. I’ve read the books, watched the original series (good) and movie (so so), and met Douglas Adams when he was on a book tour for Last Chance to See (a book worth reading).

I'm ready to see Barron sent off to do his Patriotic duty.
Don't hold your breath. At least 5 generations of trumps have shirked their patriotic duty.
Besides, he's so freakishly tall that, if he sticks his head about the turret, it will be an easy target for friendly fire.
Oh no!
Anyway...
Nothing to damage there, move along.
"We have an unwell president." That is the foundation of it all. He clearly is out of his mind. FFS...when will anyone say ENOUGH!

well, I was thinking of Dylan. 😏 Last “video” game I played was Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

You can play the 30th Anniversary edition of the game (but not on Safari) at https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1g84m0sXpnNCv84GpN2PLZG/the-game-30th-anniversary-edition
Well done!
That’s the biggest thing I’ll never get….
