They haven't learned yet that trump can't be trusted.

He's capricious and impulsive. Also, severely mentally ill.

As with everything 🍊💩 touches, this will not end well … for everyone.

How can one stupid man do so much damage around the world in such a short time? I have listened to his blather about Iran and knew from the start that he would not bomb Iran - certainly not for the welfare of the protestors. I’m hoping he’s impeached before he stupidly starts WW3.

Your title says "700" — It's so far and away more than that. There was more than that in a single public square. Sources from inside the country now estimate it to be as high as 100,000 or more people killed since the slaughter began. At least 36,000 were killed in two days according to human rights groups.

The title was a reference to Mashad.

It was at least twice that in Masshad. Reporting from inside the country is that they killed as many as 3,000 in Masshad.

That may be so but when I wrote this that was the number I had. I hoped my article reflected the tragedy overall, especially since actual numbers are impossible to verify, but I guess not.

I'm sorry. We have family in Iran. We're hearing from family in Europe who've been able to reach them. And, I'm following lots and lots of folks as they manage to get messages out. I'm also following numerous human rights groups who have people reporting to them from inside Iran — including hospitals, medical staff, and EMS staff. The West isn't really reporting on the scope and plight of the people of Iran. They're more interested in the back and forth between the Trump regime and the IR regime and regional players.

Just like we're not hearing what's happening to the people in Afghanistan day to day — but, Pakistan's attack on the country is headline news. The Taliban and the IR are cut from the same fetid cloth.

Understood. Mainstream media can't do anything right. The New Yorker piece was pretty good, but there is no gift link. And even that was pretty short, given the depth of the problem. I hope they can stay safe. Having Trump at the helm isn't helpful at all.
