Charles Bastille: Especially the affordable education rings true.

I was in California's State University (Cal-State Long Beach), BA-magna cum laude (1970). I learned then to despise Reagan. In those days, I wasn't the Bernie-Sanders/Elizabeth-Warren man I became. But after the Kent State shootings, we students wanted a day of mourning, when Reagan gratuitously declared hostilities and forced university activities to continue without break.

Maybe others did, but I never, not ever saw the so-called "charm" of Reagan.

Another symptom of the times, JD Vance says that, today, the occurrence of Watergate would be in the news cycle for 12-hours and end in a yawn.

Although I L-O-A-T-H Aryan JD Vance, I think on this one he is right.

Our voters have become so apathetic to tyrannical evil, they would just give a side-glance to Watergate.

Our Supreme Court upheld the 14th Amendment (!!!) by a hair. By a hair. Brett Kavanaugh upheld birthright citizenship with the majority only because of a statute, and this "Originalist" doesn't read "original intent" in the Citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment. Not to speak of JJ Alito, Gorsuch and Thomas.

Of course, the "Original Intent" Justices haven't found an executive dictatorial power that they didn't like.

And the Supreme Court gutting, overturning the Voting Rights Act.

It is a bizarre world in America. Cognitive dissonance.

Excellent post!

Why do Democrats insist on being their own worst enemies? And by the way I love Bluesky.
