My name is my maiden name. I changed it back after the divorce because I didn’t want to be associated with a malignant narcissist. He wasn’t quite as bad as the felon, but he was a gaslighter and lying was his go to answer to anything.
Does the name you use on voter registration align with your driver’s license? And is your DL REAL ID-compliant. If yes, to both, you should be fine. Voter registration and DL need to match anyway, even before all this, but I remember individual precincts being pretty carefree about minor names differences when voting in person. I think that might change some now.
As I read the law, you should be fine if you are currently registered. This law seems to only apply to new voter registrations. But everyone should check to make sure their states don’t remove their registration through a culling process. This is much less likely in a place like New Jersey than a red state where voter suppression is the norm.
Charles! Tremendous article.
Thank you very much, Gloria. Much appreciated.

I don’t have real ID, but I worked at the polls here in NJ for 35 years, and everything matches. The name I use here is the same as everything else.
