Update: As I understand it, Kilmar himself is not technically yet a U.S. citizen. I say he is in the article, but he's still in the early stages of being so. His wife is a U.S. citizen. I didn't change the text because nobody noticed and because I consider him one of us, no matter what the U.S. government says about him. He's earned the right to be here more than many of us have.
That’s a good idea. I need to be in reasonable proximity to my healthcare plan in case my brain blows up again, but of course, that speaks to one of the fundamental problems we face as a nation. Medicare Advantage plans, which are privately run, mostly require you to sort of stick around. If I move I am eligible to sign up for something different, but for now, I’m staying put and gutting it out.
But even after this is all over, unless there is a sea change in how people vote, I will also begin to look at VISA options. Trump is a symptom of a larger disease.
This morning I dreamed I was attempting to enter Canada. I had to sneak in as they (the border people) wouldn't allow me to enter. But then I realized if I told them I was on my way to Alaska they'd let me enter.
Speaking about the day laborers who hustle gigs at hardware stores. In my town, down the street on the next corner there's always some lowlife white person begging for money. Never do I see anyone else but a white person begging.
Some good news, my middle child just returned from overseas and cleared immigration with her green card, no problem, no questions, none of the open your phone rumors. My second social security check deposited as scheduled and I've filed and paid taxes for last year. I motivated to do yard work yesterday and today I hope to tackle the lemon tree and a few other bushes.
I'm working on cutting back on Substack time but will continue to follow you Charles!
Thanks, Charles. I always appreciate the reads and comments. Glad to hear about the successful return trip of your middle child. Gosh, you never know these days. My social security checks have been arriving so far. But I'm a little on edge! Thanks again!

I’m waiting your next piece on Bukele’s visit to Casa Blanca. Unreal.
Surreal unfolding as the reality.
So well written… "the orange dunce of dementia”. I can’t believe this is America. Frightening.
Ugh. Almost too grim to write about.
Thanks! I know what you mean. I’ll be keeping a close watch for Joyce Vance today, if she’s not too exhausted to keep up with all this.
I’m looking at VISA options, Charles. A change of scenery will do my soul good. We’ll see.
