Should Joe Biden Resign and Let Kamala Take Over?
If Biden decides to step away from the race, should he hand the keys to Kamala Harris now?
This will be a short post. Because it’s a simple question.
If Joe Biden decides to quit the race, should he take it one step further and give the nation a taste of what a Kamala presidency would look like?
I think he should.
I’ve been fairly agnostic on the question of whether he should quit. I have strong empathy for both sides of the argument. Part of the reason that I haven’t been eager to see him go is because those who are on the most progressive wing of Democratic politics are not in favor of his leaving.
It helps that he’s reminded me a bit of FDR during his tenure.
But this article is not intended to litigate this matter. That’s happening elsewhere. I’ll let everyone else fight that out.
What I’m interested in is the logistics behind him bowing out of the race if that’s his decision.
Emphasis on his decision.
Like many others, I won’t be happy if he feels “forced out.”
But if it’s his decision, I hope he goes Dark Brandon and resigns. He can call it health reasons since that is why he’s being chased around anyway. There’s no shame in finishing on a high note, which is really where he is at historically, no matter what any pundits may tell you.
Resigning would give Kamala Harris a chance to step in and do executive-level stuff in front of the nation. It would give her a stentorious pulpit, too. And it may inspire the former prosecutor to add some thorns into her opponent’s side that Biden hasn’t considered (she could start by firing Merrick Garland, in my opinion).
Handing the presidency to Kamala Harris would scare the crap out of Republicans, who have turned into an organizational crime wave seeking mass deportation, mass arrests of doctors who provide women’s health care, and who want to censor the emerging truths behind American history.
Most of all, it would offer the hope of stability and the promise of ending the Trump/MAGA scourge forever.
Because she will easily win re-election as the new incumbent.
The MAGA world likes to talk about how angry they are.
I get the sense that when November 5 rolls around, we’ll see who is really angry.
The corruption of SCOTUS, the insane “Mass Deportation” signs at the RNC, and the insane rhetoric of the Republican brand and Project 2025 have scared three-quarters of the country half to death. The polls do not reflect this fear.
So if you go, Joe, do it now. We will give you a hero’s exit when you hand Kamala the keys to the Oval Office. You will be known to history as the man who ended the MAGA movement once and for all.

I’m reconsidering my move to the Ghost platform despite my discomfort with the rather unfortunate presence of so many right-wing substacks. I’ll provide an update soon.

I’m going to take advantage of the open comments section on this post to let you know how much I’m enjoying your work. Both your fiction and your political commentary are engaging, beautifully constructed and fairly addictive! Not sure if it shows in your metrics or not but I’ve spent the entire day gorging myself on your posts.. When I’m a bit more stable I plan to become a paid subscriber, but for now, just know you have a new, fired-up, fan!
I like your writing. Again. Thank You!
